Charity Corner at Portobello Town Hall

On Saturday 29th June in the foyer of Portobello Town Hall, we will be hosting a Charity Corner where you can find the stalls of LGBTQ+ charities and LGBTQ+ owned business. This is a chance to find out more about what they do, how they can help and how you can get involved in their work. Make sure to come on down and say hi!

  • LGBT Health and Wellbeing

    Established in 2003, LGBT Health and Wellbeing works to improve the physical, social, and mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ adults (16+) in Scotland. We do this by providing responsive support services, social opportunities for our community to connect, and supporting mainstream services to become more inclusive.

    We welcome the entire diversity of our lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community including non-binary, queer, intersex, asexual people and all communities under the LGBTQ+ umbrella.

    The Equality Network aims to bring about equality and improve the human rights situation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) people in Scotland.

    We works for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) equality and human rights in Scotland. We strive to be inclusive and open in our work, to challenge discrimination and to consult, involve and inform the individuals and the communities for which we work.

  • Waverley Care

    Waverley Care is Scotland’s leading HIV and hepatitis charity. Our goal is to be there for everyone affected by HIV in Scotland, and to break down stigma that impacts people living with HIV. Our new campaign, #GetToZero, aims to get Scotland to zero HIV transmissions by 2030. We want to make Scotland the best place to live with HIV.

  • SWAN ( Scottish Workplace Networking for LGBT People)

    Join SWAN (Scottish Workplace Networking for LGBT People) at Porty Pride for a free and fun speed networking session. SWAN is an LGBT charity set up to provide opportunities for LGBT people across Scotland to get together for informative and varied events and networking opportunities. With events held in Edinburgh and Glasgow, SWAN aims to bring folk together outwith traditional sector-based business and informal events to meet, connect and learn.

    Join us on Saturday 29th June at 1pm in Portobello Town Hall for a short speed networking event hosted by SWAN. You’ll also have the opportunity to find out more about SWAN and how to join as a friend or even future Trustee.

  • UNISON Scotland LGBT+

    Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people are still denied equality in the workplace – too often we face discrimination and harassment instead of a fair deal. Joining UNISON gives you a voice in Britain’s biggest public services union, which is committed to working for LGBT+ rights.

    Lesbians, gay men, bisexual and transgender people in UNISON organise locally and nationally to support each other, to identify discrimination, to increase awareness of LGBT+ rights and to campaign for change. The UNISON group voted in 2005 to become an LGBT group and in 2019 to be LGBT+, and we are working to build bisexual and transgender members and issues into the core of our group. Together we can speak up for our rights at work and improve each other’s lives.

    Hello and welcome to Rainbow Tiger UK. I’m Kiera, an autistic, ADHD, lesbian mum living in Edinburgh. I am so excited to be returning to Porty Pride again this year! I love designing and creating quirky, unique items that bring people joy.

    I make a variety LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse, mental health, Scottish, British, political, humorous and family themed items, that can be personalised on request. My products include mugs, coasters, glassware, home decor, aprons, tote bags, kids clothes, t-shirts, hoodies, stickers, badges, magnets, key-rings and much more.     Products are designed and made by me. If you can't find what you're looking for, please just ask or drop me a message and I will be thrilled to design it for you. Orders taken at Porty Pride will be eligible for free delivery within postcodes EH1 - EH20.

    I believe it’s important to give back to the community, so I donate at least 5% of profits from sales of LGBTQI+ and mental health related items, to relevant UK charities, including Porty Pride.

    I would be delighted if you popped by my stall at Portobello Town Hall on Saturday 29th June for a free sticker and to say, “Hi!”
